The Marshall Thundering Herd will take on the UTSA Roadrunners in week 12 college football action Saturday from Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

UTSA is sitting at 4-7 this year. The Roadrunners have beaten Southern U, Texas State, Rice and UTEP, while falling to Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas State, LA Tech, Southern Miss, UAB and FIU.

In the FIU game, UTSA QB DJ Gillins put up 107 yards and four picks, with Brenden Brady logging 42 yards on the ground. The Roadrunners’ lead receiver was Marquez McNair with 48 yards from five grabs.

Over on the Marshall side, they’re 6-3 this season following losses to NC State, Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss. The Herd’s wins have come courtesy of Miami OH, Eastern KY, Western KY, Old Dominion, FL Atlantic and Charlotte.

In the Charlotte game, Marshall QB Isaiah Green logged 178 yards and a TD, and Brenden Knox had 116 yards and a TD on the ground. Tyre Brady was the lead receiver for the Herd on 95 yards from six grabs.

The Roadrunners are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 conference games. UTSA is 3-13 ATS in their last 16 on turf and 0-6 ATS in the last six in November.

Meanwhile, the Herd are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight-up win. Marshall is 1-5 ATS in the last six after an ATS win and the over is 4-1 in their last five overall.

UTSA has gone back into hibernation following that three-game win streaking in the four games since they’ve posted a total of just 30 points.

As for Marshall, they’ve had a few slip-ups this year, losing games they should have won, but on the whole they’re playing pretty well lately. I can’t find a whole lot of reasons not to pick the Herd here.
